System Administrator: Fundamentals

Method and theory-style class. Participants will develop foundational knowledge and gain basic understanding of the agency infrastructure and the Aware application. Class topics include:

  • Overview of Aware Architecture
  • Adaptation resources
  • Agency infrastructure impacts on performance
  • Release development and successful release implementations
  • Engaged business decision making

System Administrator: Core Competencies

Class builds on the foundation established in the Fundamentals class to expand upon the interplay between adaptation, system parameters, and staff security. Class topics and activities include:

  • Managing staff security templates
  • Establishing reporting structure
  • Setting up funds, budgets, and auto budget selection
  • Handling interfaces
  • Planning and testing releases
  • Navigating Aware Help Desk

Prerequisite: System Administrator: Fundamentals or instructor permission. 

System Administrator: Advanced Competencies

Class focuses on successful, independent Aware system administration through challenging scenarios and in-depth issues and situations. Class curriculum includes:

  • Auditing Aware system settings, including security templates and conducting internal adaptation reviews
  • Researching, verifying, resolving, and reporting errors
  • Verifying and changing system set up for Federal reporting
  • Using the RSA-911 Edit Checker and other resources to find and validate federal reporting errors

Prerequisite: System Administrator: Core Competencies or instructor permission. 

System Administrator: Certification Assessment

Assessment of the System Administrator’s knowledge, skills, and abilities to research and resolve challenges in the Aware system. Class includes a final, timed exam to qualify the individual as a certified Aware System Administrator.
