Being born without arms, Jessica Cox immediately faced a world not designed for her. With an unwavering spirit and “can-do” mentality, she overcame the obstacles in her path, graduated from college, learned to swim, drive a car, surf, scuba dive, fly an airplane, become a Taekwondo State Champion, and live independently using her feet in ways others who take their hands for granted can only imagine. She is now recognized internationally as an inspirational keynote speaker, and has traveled to 20 countries and 6 continents with her powerful message.
Jessica will be sharing her powerful message with getAwareLive attendees during her Keynote on day 1 (July, 25th) in Atlanta. Get a sneak peak in the video below:
Hi, my name is Jessica Cox and I was born without both my arms, but I am also the world’s first armless pilot. I am also a disability advocate and have advocated for people with disabilities in the Philippines, Ethiopia, Nepal, and even here in the United states in Washington DC. I’m thrilled to be a part of getAwareLive 2018 and be a part of the discussion on disability employment. I’ll be talking about persistence and fearlessness and how they have applied to my own life. There have been many strides that have improved the lives of people with disabilities, but we still have a long ways to go, and I do not plan to stop any time soon. See you there!
